Every connoisseur of Japanese entertainment (scratch that: entertainment in general) has their personal “best ever”, and for me, it’s undoubtedly Cardcaptor Sakura. I’m been watching anime and reading manga for over fifteen years and no series has ever been able to topple over Cardcaptor Sakura in my heart. This anime and manga is undeniably of one the greatest highlights of the 90’s – it’s very good and the protagonist is undeniably the cutest thing you’ll ever witness in an anime ever.
Ever.
The tender loving care CLAMP and Studio Madhouse gave to this series, plus the overwhelming nostalgia from this being my first subtitled anime series as a child (Dragon Ball was my first RAW), has turned me into pretty much the largest Cardcaptor Sakura nut around. I’m on a quest to blog the entire Cardcaptor Sakura series – from the movies, to the specials – and the original manga, among other things related to the franchise.
(Note: The only time you’ll hear me talk about the dreaded Nelvana version, entitled Cardcaptors, is when I’m relentlessly mocking it.)
Time to get the show on the road. RELEASE!
Anime
“Ten-year-old Sakura lives a pretty normal life with her older brother, Touya, and widowed father, Fujitaka. Or she did, until the day she returned home from school to discover a glowing book in her father’s study. After opening the book and releasing the cards within, Sakura is tasked with collecting each of these magical cards, while trying to live the life of a normal fourth grader. In the monumental task of collecting all the cards, Sakura must rely on her friends and family, and decide what she finds most important in life.” – NIS America, Online Store‘s Official Descripton

Animetic Story 1 – Cardcaptor Sakura
- TBA
Eh, to me CardCaptor Sakura just got overrated, it seems like CLAMP has decided to bring back their cash cow (CCS) because its “everyone’s favorite CLAMP series” instead of finishing work that should of been finished years ago (X, Legal Drug etc..) I used to love CardCaptor a lot but not I just think people get overhyped about it
