AnimeBlogger.net Needs Your Help! (Donation Drive)

AnimeBlogger.net has always been supportive of new writers all over the world to establish their blog for free. As we continue to expand and include new bloggers to the anime blogosphere, we have reached a point where advertising dollars are not enough to pay for the hosting services.

Hence, we have decided to appeal for donations to cover the taxes and hosting fees of AnimeBlogger.net. The first goal is to raise US$1600 to cover three months of hosting and the taxes applicable to AnimeBlogger.net. When we have secured that amount, we are looking into adding another server in order to accommodate more writers, which is where the second goal comes in. If we reach our second goal of US$2200, we’ll be able to add another server.

If you are wondering how you can donate to us, there are various ways. First, you can directly donate to the site via Amazon or Paypal from our donations page. Second, you can buy AnimeBlogger.net merchandise. As an incentive to those who donate, everyone who donates more than $5 will be entered to win a prize. Currently we have a sponsor that’s paying for two AnimeBlogger.net shirts for winners. You can also contribute any anime-related items as prizes for the lucky draw.

AnimeBlogger.net needs your help. Everyone is integral to the support of AnimeBlogger.net. Every little bit counts to hit our target, be it $1 or $100. You will make a difference. Thank you and please continue to explore our anime blogging community!

(Yes, I know, a little late on the intake…) If you’re a regular anime blog reader or even an anime blogger yourself, chip in a few bucks to help AB.net out (or better yet, buy the awesome shirts at the AB.net store. Win win, I say!). (; If not for me, do it for the cat. >3

OH SHI- PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED. INFORMATION LOST.

IE, you suck T_T

So, one day, my school friend and I were having a nerdy conversation. I asked him if he used Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox . He replies, saying that he uses Internet Explorer (6) and he honestly doesn’t see the differences between using one or the other.

THERE’S A BIG DIFFERENCE, LOSER!

First of all, I had a lot of headaches back when I was blogging on Blogger and when I posted on web forums using IE. When my internet or the cruddy servers (be it Blogger or the web forum) go out, I usually found myself cursing at my computer because my 30-inched post was LOST. All the hard work, down the drain. Every time I used IE, my lazy *** (hey, don’t blame me. 99.9 % of the population lost a lot of their patience once they created DSL and cable internet) was forced to save a lot of my stuff in text files beforehand until I hit that submit button. Now, when I began to use Mozilla Firefox, which I was hearing good things about (shut up, this isn’t about Opera), get this – whenever I came across that evil “PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED” monster, I simply just pressed the back button on the browser and (OH DEAR!) MY POSTS WERE STILL THERE rather then the INFORMATION LOST crap IE gives us! The posting interface on WordPress is also screwy on Internet Explorer (whenever you save posts with a lot of pictures, you can’t switch to using the HTML code editor – which I use more compared to the visual editor).

Secondly, my computer used to be a damn virus magnet when I was using Internet Explorer. That is, until I started to use Firefox. Mozilla Firefox makes surfing through porn websites a lot easier.

Lastly, I don’t watch porn. I DON’T WATCH PORN.

I’m Back With a New PC

I’ve been away for a while, and even though I don’t regularly blog, due to the fact that playing a game takes longer than watching an anime episode, I still felt it was important to state that I’m officially back.

The blog owner has made a post about the unfortunate events I was dealing with, but that wasn’t the only reason I was gone. You see, I was having some computer problems. An enormous dust bunny blocked my CPU fan from moving causing my computer to overheat and forcing me to buy this new computer.

Here’s a quick bit of advice : always remember to crack open your computer every once in a while, to make sure dust bunnies aren’t taking over your PC. If you have a Mac then my spite against Macs will command you to leave it alone and let it break.

Also, I may start posting computer news if I can get permission from the blog owner.

So tired and depressing

This past week has been a real energy drainer. I haven’t really felt like watching any of the new episodes of the anime on my watchlist. No, it’s not what you think. I haven’t lost interest in anime, or blogging – as you can plainly see from this past week. It’s just that I recieved some devastating news on Tuesday, even though it has nothing, or at least indirectly, to do with me.

According to him, my friend’s grandmother died from a surgery last Friday night. She went through a surgery to remove a small tumor from some part of her body, a very small tumor. My friend’s family figured she might’ve been okay, since she went through a much serious surgery before and she said there was no risk. However, they found out there must have been some sort of risk since an air bubble went into her throut and she started to sufficate. She had minutes before her time was up, however, his family decided to pull the plug since she was paralyzed and there was nothing they could do. My friend feels very sad that he has lost his grandmother, and I felt sad the moment I heard it because I was having a normal boring weekend, not knowing what had happened. Aside from my usual angst, it was a very big motivation-killer.

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t make this post to garner sympathy for him, but to wish a good “rest in peace” to a fellow human being that died recently (the funeral is today too, actually). Always remember to spend as much time with the people close to you, because they won’t be with you forever.

For those who want to know, my “friend” is actually a minion guest on this blog who makes occassional posts, xXStevenLeXx.

Happy Memorial Day!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Memorial Day! I thought a picture of Mae Hughes fits the bill just right… rest in peace in anime heaven, you brave soul.

Also called Decoration Day. a day, May 30, set aside in most states of the U.S. for observances in memory of dead members of the armed forces of all wars: now officially observed on the last Monday in May.

Post a comment link in permalink… gone?

Seems that it’s nowhere in sight on the previous post…

Blogger seems to be laughing at my expense…

Eh, if you come across something like the previous post, just click the little pencil picture at the bottom of the post on the main page to comment.

EDIT: The little pencil seems to come and go. >_o And it just isn’t there on Mozilla Firefox.

EDIT2: I forgot… that little pencil’s for editing posts when I’m logged in… -_- I’m such a dumba**. Orz

LAST!EDIT: FIXED! YOSHI! 8D

New Staff

I have just been appointed a position on the blog, so the next time you see a post that has nothing to do with anything Japanese, then you can expect it to have been made by me.

The current blog owner apparently can’t keep up with the scourge of all things American, so that’s why I now have a hobby. (Mikoto Edit: stfu nub. :<)

Edit : I still don’t approve of the borderline hentai quiz. >.<
