Fairy Tail x Rave Master

Oh my god... Elie. <3

ELIE. NUFF’ SAID.

Here’s one way to get me to watch Fairy Tail! I gotta say… I really miss Rave. That manga has to be one of my all-time favorite shounen manga series, and it’s a shame that the anime adaptation was cancelled before it got to the really good bits of the manga. I love the fact that the original seiyuu from the 2001 anime reprise their roles as the Rave Warriors here. And they looked so good with modern animation and their finalized designs from the manga. Man, I *really* want a reboot of the Rave anime…

As for Fairy Tail, I’ve read the manga and watched some episodes of the anime. I really like the characters, but everything else seems to be so… shallow compared to Hiro Mashima’s previous work, which is disappointing. That isn’t to say that the OVA didn’t inspire me to catch up with the series regardless, if only for Wendy’s cuteness and Natsu’s badassery.

12 Days of Anime, Day 4: Tales Comeback!

Presents are over THERE

The worst part about having Paint Tool Sai installed on my system is knowing that other artists are using the program to its full potential with a Wacom Cintiq or other expensive tablets that I can’t afford.

…oh well, enough with the jealousy and time for some holiday spirit, and all that other jazz. Day 4, man! ($4k present for Mikoto…please? Please?)

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen (OVA) Part I: Cage of Flames

A legendary swordsman returns...

Back when it was announced that there was a Rurouni Kenshin “remake”, I was absolutely ecstatic and expected something more along the lines of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood where it was a complete reboot that finishes the manga completely (Jinchu arc animated = <3 =D). Turns out that it was just a set of OVAs that retold the Kyoto arc through the perspective of Misao Makimachi.

Alas, if you go into it with it being a “remake” in mind, you’ll be sorely disappointed by how inferior it is in comparison to its TV counterpart.  Fortunately, I went into with the fact that it’s supplementary material in mind and a treat for the fans (both of which it essentially is), and I found myself thoroughly enjoying what it had to offer.

Tales of Symphonia: Tethe’alla Hen (OVA) – 02

Overdoing things
Wonder how far we’ll go into our strange hobbies?” – Zelos Wilder.

Jesus, Regal. I know you’ve lost your lover and you’re bound by some really uncomfortable handcuffs, but don’t you think you’re overdoing your online activities just a tad?

TSUBASA RESERVoir CHRoNICLE – TOKYO REVELATIONS OVA *spoilers*

A new Tsubasa OVA animated by Producting IG (the company that animated the movie and xxxHoliC. Yay!) has been officially annouced. It will be about 3 episodes, with each episode included with each new manga volume starting 11/21/07.

1) The Magician’s Message
1st DVD w/ TRC volume 21 regular edition – out Nov 21, 2007, 3360 yen
(includes a storage case for all 3 with a new illustration)

2) The Boy’s Right Eye
2nd DVD w/ TRC volume 22 regular edition – out Jan 17, 2008, 2980 yen

3) The Dream the Princess Saw
3rd DVD w/ TRC volume 23 regular edition – out Mar 17, 2008, 2980 yen

We get to see the Acid Tokyo arc done properly (finally, we get to see the Real!Syaoran and our Syaoran’s psychopathic clone nature in action, animated!), probably with all the blood intact. I’m kind of worried about the character designs though, since I wasn’t very happy with the (sort of) distracting character designs in the movie. I hear they say the art is going to differ from the manga too… not giving me a good feeling.

On the bright side, I’m also confident about the animation since they’re no longer confined to NHK’s broadcast standards. ^^;
